About the Archives

The Monroeville Historical Society’s Photo Archives includes more than 800 photos of the Monroeville/Patton Township area spanning the years from the mid-1800s to today. Photos cover eight aspects of community life: Homes and Farms; People; Places; Churches and Schools; Pitcairn’s Corner; Before/After; and the Monroeville Historical Society.

Use of Pictures from the Archives

These pictures may be downloaded free-of-charge to all those with an interest in history. If used in publication, proper attribution should be attached, e.g., “Photo courtesy of the Monroeville Historical Society.”

Donating Pictures to the Archives

The MHS always welcomes photos of potential historical interest to be added to our archives. All selected photos are electronically scanned, and the originals promptly returned to their owners. The scanned images will then become an official part of our historical heritage, freely available for future generations. For information on donating photos contact Louis Chandler through the "Contact Us" page.
